Engineering life: from genomes to organs
The Faculty for Biosciences announces the fifth edition of the public lecture series entitled "Bio(R)evolution: new Faces, new Ideas, new Horizons" on May 18th 2026 at 6 p.m. in the Large Lecture Hall in INF230 (COS).
This series is meant to introduce newly appointed or co-opted professors of our faculty to the academic community. On that occasion our new colleagues will present their past achievements, ongoing projects, and the potential societal impact of their work.
The target audience includes faculty members, students, researchers, and the general public interested in biosciences. The lecture format typically involves two presentations of 20-25 minutes each by the newly appointed or co-opted professor, followed by a moderated discussion on the societal implications of their research. The event concludes with a small reception.
The two speakers will be Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Rudolf (TH Mannheim) and Prof. Dr. Daniel Schindler (ZMBH)
UPDATE (dd 13-05-2026) due to unforeseen circumstances Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Rudolf will not be able to present, instead Prof. Dr. Aurelio Teleman will take his place
