Dr. Blanca Ana Iachia y Baca after her defense (Foto J.Rami)Welcome to the homepage of the PhD Office of the Faculty of Biosciences. The Faculty and a number of affiliated institutes and their research facilities have developed a multifaceted PhD Program, which allows for modern and highly sophisticated training and education of our PhD students. The Program is meant to improve your proficiencies and knowledge in your particular field of study as well as to broaden your scientific horizon beyond the particular research project you are working on.

The Faculty grants the title Dr. rer. nat. (Doctor of Natural Sciences, equivalent to PhD) to PhD candidates. The practical realization of the program is mostly done in the 'structured PhD Programs' that are organized by the research institutes and centers that are associated to the Faculty.

Participation in the PhD Programs is required for all PhD students of the Faculty of Biosciences. We invite you to follow the links in the menu on the left to get more information and to get started today.
